ABOUT MAPLE SPRINGS

Maple Springs is a small, family run business dedicated to making hand-crafted dry, Burgundian-style wines that enrich life & express the individuality of our small farm in the beautiful rolling hills in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

When you open a bottle of Maple Springs, you open a story of passion - from the way we care for our land and vines, to the creative blending and caretaking by our winemaker. Producing less than 3,000 cases per year allows us to blend old-world artistry with new-world winemaking techniques.

At Maple Springs, every single decision we make, every person on our small team, and every hour spent in the winery and vineyard is done to deliver an extraordinary experience to our customers.

We planted our first vines in 2008 and our first vintage of our Estate Line was in 2011. We added our New Leaf collection of wines in early 2020.

THE FARM

Marianne and her wife Carolyn purchased what is now known as Maple Springs Farm in 1995. Originally a 1750’s dairy farm, the vines for our estate line have been planted in the existing fields only, which equals about roughly 10 acres within the 80-acre farm. The rest has been left largely intact to preserve the natural beauty of the land.

The property is occupied by Marianne and her family as well as several staff who have homes on the property. There is also a menagerie of dogs, cats, goats, and a horse that live on the farm.

THE FARM

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Our 1,500 sq. ft. winery was built with the environment and efficiency in mind, and we have a negative energy impact every year.

  • The floors are made of sustainable natural cork and the community tables are hand-crafted from oak trees from the farm.

  • 48 solar panels are on the roof to cover all of the electric demands.

  • Ultra-efficient geothermal heating provides all heating and cooling needs  for the building.
